Ahh, Chinoiserie! I've long been a lover of this French mode of Chinese inspired motifs! And it sure looks like I'm on a turquoise kick this past week! Funny how colors speak to our emotional status. It has been a pretty stressful week and my gravitation to aqua hues alludes to a need for calm. But back to Chinoiserie. This look has been a style staple since the courts of Madame de Pompadour, who favored Chinese and Indian textiles. I love how each piece is inspired by nature and balance. In times of uncertainty and tragedy, these patterns create a subtle calm.

Oh my! what gorgeous wallpaper! and that mirror.... its all so beautiful....
humm I love round shapes and patterns, I feel peace around flowers and beautiful prints, femenine but not too much... ah! and lots of light. No minimalism or sharp edges for me PLEASE!!!

Oh wow! These are gorgeous! I am admiring some of those wallpapers...although I don't think my husband would approve, but he's not the decorator in the house!
