The Warm and Cool of It

Its a lovely crisp fall day today, my first day back in Nashville and I have been imagining this change of seasons and thinking about transitioning from summer to winter. In the process I have collected these images of rooms that mix both warm and cool tones and seem to say seasonal transition to me. How do you transition from season to season? New throw pillows or curtains, flowers or colorful accessories perhaps? I'd love to hear your ideas!

Shop Around the Corner: Steptoes Dog Vintage

Greeting from Texas still dears. I hate that I have not been able to post until now.  Its been a whirlwind trip and I am still visiting family, walking Main st. in Fredericksburg (where I visited Enid and Red ). So much fun talking with Lara Collins Bobo in person for the first time in about 15 years.  I've been working on this for you in between meets and greets but wanted to share my new favorite online vintage shop, Steptoes Dog Vintage. This shop has it all: vintage housewares, clothing, handbags, jewelry, etc.... Hope you have fun perusing as much as I did. I am a little behind with my daily posts but will feature the blog of the week tomorrow! How was your weekend?

Hello blogging buddies. It has been raining for two weeks in Nashville. So I have spread my wings and flown to Texas for some sunshine and.... girls weekend 2009! This is an annual trip for 5 girls who grew up in a small town to reunite and reminisce. We come from all over to get together, take a break from the usual busy routine. It is one weekend a year where we treat ourselves to relaxation, spa days, movies, chocolate, good food and good laughs. So I may be not as frequent posting this weekend but know my thoughts are with you! It is my dream for you to take time for yourself some this weekend to renew and refresh your soul. Do you make time to reunite with dear friends? I never thought I would have the time to take a weekend from my busy schedule but now I am hooked. I can't imagine not doing it. I tend to be a work a holic and always thought that finishing the next project was more important than relationships. But now know the power of soul connections with dear friends and sister- a safe to place to know and be known.
I wish this for you too!
What refreshes your soul?

Thank you so much for your sweet comments yesterday and for reading my interview/home tour! I feel blessed to have friends like YoU! So, do you need a little eye candy? Ohh. I can't believe I haven't heard of Damian Russell before now! His work is sensuous and colorful, but Im really loving these more faded images with pops of neon color. (they remind me of Anthropologie catalogues). And of course he has some fab images of Matthew Williamson's home.  Well worth the look thru his porfolio. Hope your day if full of bursts of color!

New Collections from Harlequin

Have you seen the new collections from Harlequin?  Their entire color palette for the new fall collection has me reminiscing on Leslie's beautiful post on Decor8 this week. Are we in love with the color: Peacock? Yummy! Its so rich and sophisticated paired with shimmers of gold.  What do you think?

ps. i've used this color as my new accent in my home. more of that later today! ....

Hunting And Gathering: Porcelain Pretties

Hello Lovelies! Do you ever crave some things that are just a bit dainty and precious , whether it be a piece of jewelry or teacup? I tend to be pretty hard on my treasures, but with delicate porcelain I find my inner lady like etiquette. Isn't it funny how beautiful things can make us want to be better people? I have found this same sentiment in my new home- a divine treasure that I want to cherish and take care of for years to come. Blog of the Week: Bella Vita Home

Jennifer of BellaVita  has been one of my choice sites for great style and lovely finds. Her blog offers snippets of life from her shop Bella Vita in Oakland, CA. I simply adore her shop's site. It is tantalizing and makes me crave a visit to the west coast again. What do you think? How was your weekend? Is it raining where you are? It has been nearly a week of rain here, so these sunny images warm my heart.

Yippee! Fashion Week and now the Emmys. Don't you love looking at all the pretty runway and red carpet fashion this time of year? Its so fun to dream Cinderella dreams! I've put together my runway faves. Can you tell I heart florals and ruffles. I will be sad when this feminine trend fades out in a couple of years, but I'm going to celebrate it whole heartedly while its here! Here are some other trends I noticed while perrusing this site:

Flowy chiffon, unstructured loose fitting garments, citron yellow, shades of coral and tons of blue, denim, denim,denim, denim as formal wear, bubble skirts , harem pants, ethnic prints
