Hi, I'm Kathryn and my blog is Secrets of a Butterfly. When Heather so kindly asked me if i'd like to do a guest post here at her wonderful blog i took a few days to think of where my inspiration would come from. I found it in the form of this photograph by Novel Photographie which lead me into finding a room setting that sums up a "less is more" approach to decor. The Swedish apartment below fitted the style i was wanting to share perfectly.
Accessories are all important in a paired down scheme. Items such as this suitcase and vase make an impact against a neutral background.
Another image from the same apartment at the Alvhem website, shows how an eclectic collection of frames makes a beautiful focal point on what would otherwise be a plain corner of the room.
And this arrangement by Censational girl shows a vintage key amongst the frames which i thought was such a unique touch.
And in this last image we can see the overall look of the room. I found these Swedish room photos via Simone's flickr stream. As well as collecting together inspiring photographs within my posts, i often like to highlight shops i find on the web. Some beautiful white and neurtral bedding and living accessories are to be found at the English based website The White Company. And home accents and accessories many in whites and vintage tones can be found at Vintage amethyst. Both i can personally recommend. Love and light
