Thank you, Sarah at Apartment Therapy Chicago for asking me to participate in a House Tour and survey ! It was a super fun challenge to get the new home in order enough for a tour. There are all new pics of my recent diy home painting projects (refinishing furniture, shelving, walls, etc.) Thank you dear friends for supporting me along the way. I feel blessed and honored.
Well done! I so enjoyed seeing more of your lovely home.
But now you have me all curious about the "man cave". Will we get to see that too one day soon?

Congrats, Heather! Looks lovely. It's good to hear your husband has a man cave, too - my husband is plotting his for the basement & I've never seen him more excited.

Congratulations Heather, I had fun going through your house tour on apartement therapy and I really like your new bedroom linens from Ikea. They look great in the room.

thanks ya'll!! its funny. the comments ive received there have been so varied. and its interesting to me how severe of reactions people have of my home. i know its not perfect and a work in progress. someday i hope to be able to buy more grown up furniture and accessories and not be bound to second hand, but alas. work with what you have. thank you for your kindness and support! sophie, i will post mancave pics in the coming months as we get ready for our holiday open house.

Great job on the new place, Heather. I think it looks perfectly cozy. (Grandma's house always was to me, too :) Sweet vignettes and unpretentious.
You've certainly had a tough crowd over there at Apartment Therapy, but I think you've dealt with it quite eloquently. Way to stick to your unique style. After all, it's what makes you who you are and you are an especially talented and beautiful person:)

Your house looks great! I love your use of mixing vintage and modern pieces. It looks so natural and cozy. I can't believe you did all that in 3 months!! :-)

Heather don't listen to any of those negative comments for one second! Its funny how rude people can be in the virtual world -you shared your home and what you like and its gorgeous!

Congratulations, Heather! Your house looks great - I second Tricia's comment.

Heather, I'm fairly certain I've mentioned this before, but I love your style. I love how you stacked the tray on top of books in your dining room, such a clever idea.
Ps. Don't listen to the commenters at AT -- they're notoriously rude.

THANK YOU ALL dearies! You don't know what this means to me. I was getting kind of down after reading some of the critical comments on AT. I just want to give you all a hug for your support. It felt tempting to give up, but you ladies gave me hope today. I needed that!

Congrats, Heather! Your home looks lovely. I hate that the comments on AT are SO snarky (I had the same issue when they posted our house). Don't let it get you down. :)
