Are you like me, do you ever wonder what happens in the Southern Hemispheres this time of year? I have never travelled that far South but am fascinated by the seasonal role reversal. Thanks to the cybersphere I have been reading some Australian blogs lately that feature beachy vintage and brights for Christmas in Summer. Love it! What do you think? Do you enjoy the idea of a tropical holiday? Or are you already there? And if so, what's it like?

I live in Australia and we still decorate with snowmen and snowflakes! Some years it's stinking hot and we all stay indoors in the air-conditioning. I think many families eat a lot of seafood and salads due to the hot weather but we usually manage a turkey or ham, too.

New Zealand doesn't get that hot, and we always had the full English Christmas lunch - roast ham, turkey, lamb and vegetables, followed by traditional fruit cake and pudding.
But I still always think Christmas isn't Christmas without following all that up with an afternoon by the pool :-)

i always wonder, too! of course i'd love to give it a try sometime, haha. even just in california or down south, etc. i've never experienced a warm holiday. ..actually, even just to celebrate christmas while on a vacation, period, would be a new and fun experience. i always wonder what it would be like to wake up in a really fancy hotel on christmas morning haha..maybe even amongst all the fancy-ness i could ream of i'd still get homesick....then again, i'd live in a hotel if i could! haha
