Building a home is a continual work in progress. And in mine I tend to want a finished product sooner rather than later. Do you know what I mean? So I decided to overcome my perfectionist tendencies and share a little sneak peak of the projects I have been working on for the past few months around the house. It all started with this design dilemma. And from staring at my colorless walls I began building a palette and trying to create a warmer welcome.
With a next to nothing budget I decided to work with my strengths. Paint. A quick and easy solution to transform nearly anything. I spend my days painting other people's homes to make a living and although I a tend to be tired when I come home, I began to do unto myself as I do unto others. I've enjoyed it so much that now I am continuing to paint vintage finds and small household items and have listed them for sale at Gathering Spriggs.
I would love to hear your thoughts, critiques, and suggestions to take it to the next level.
p.s. I am in the process of getting a slipcover made in canvas for the green couch!

NO, don't slipcover that couch! That was the first thing I looked at in your photos and thought, what a cool vintage couch!
Your home looks so inviting and peaceful and feminine, and elegant! Good job indeed!

I love it! The warm walls with those turquoise accents. I wouldn't change a thing.

Love the hallway mural, stunning. And how did you hang the umbrella? I tried to just set mine on a high cabinet or in a curtain rung, but it kept falling down.

love the persimmon accents! so many wonderful details here. i'm dying to see that peach wall in context. the detail and hue is lovely... what a fantastic space you've made and will continue to make, I'm sure, as long as y'all are there (creative diva that you are)

I agree with Tali! Don't slipcover the couch! It looks great with the wall cover and it ties in nicely with the unique framed map!
