Friends, I have a question for you... Or a favor to ask. After reading this post on sfgirlbybay, I was inspired to host my own impromptu survey to see what things you like about Gathering Spriggs, what things you wish you could read more of, and what things could stand some improvement. You won't hurt my feelers here. As I put on the final tweaks on the new website and blog page I am thinking about a few items to include and some to remove.
What are your thoughts on :
- more frequent posts? (do you like more than one post per day?)
- more info on creative business strategies or blogging tips?
- offering freebies or special invites to GS readers?
- do you like posts on color or design?
- how bout features of etsy artists /sellers?
- include more of my own artwork or home image (or have we been there done that enough?)
I would love to know what you are wishing for in blogland this year??
Thanks for your constant support, and I look forward to hearing more from you!
Ooh I feel like a student in class and I get to raise my hand. I would love to see more of your house and the color posts are always a hit. I think that one post a day is great. Have you thought about doing, what I wore today. Those are fun. : )

Hi Heather - I personally don't like more than one post a day, as I get overwhelmed. Regarding your list, I enjoy all of those! And I, personally, will never tire of seeing your own creative expression, whether it be your home or artwork. If I had to choose one that's the least important for me, it's the blogging tips. I find that area to be so very subjective.
Overall, though, I love the direction you're taking in these last few months. You are hitting a balance between inspiring images and stories, which I very much enjoy.

Hello - I just found you so I can't really comment from much experience. However - for what it's worth I don't so much like multiple posts in a day as I miss stuff and I hate that! I like the images - that's what drew me to your blog in the first place. I am always interested in blogging tips but then I think actually alot of people who read don't have a blog themselves so maybe that would alienate some? What I look for in a blog is a design influence but also a personal touch - I want to know who is behind the design. Lou x

I agree that we don't need to have more than one post a day. And I love what we have been seeing from you, keep up the good work. You inspire me every day

I agree with what others have said - one post per day is good. Then I feel like I can actually read the whole thing instead of just skimming. I would love to see some features of Etsy artists. Also info about running a small artistic business would be awesome.

Hello Heather! I'm with everyone on the one post a day - that, or I quickly lose track of my favourites :) And if I must choose (although everything on your list sounds super fine) I'd choose something that's not on it - more of your inspirational writing! You have such a way with words - you express thoughts and feelings I would have never known how to describe. I LOVE that, and hope that whatever direction you go in you'll continue sharing more of this special talent with us, xo

One post per day is good for me, like the others I get overwhelmed and then just end up deleting without reading and then I miss things and I don't like that and on and on and on. I love the pics, I get inspiration from them, love the colors! As for surviving winter, here in upstate New York, one has to make one's own sunshine and color. My winter boots for example are bright red and I love them! Gray days up here can last for days and days!

I like the variety of topics and photo's as well as the stories. For me if you can continue on this route-with the variety and guest bloggers-works for me. Thank You!

heather - thanks for asking. i'd like to see more posts that are unique to YOU - like more of your crafty side, art, lifestyle, jewelry. Less "inspirational" photos from other sources. There are already so many design/lifestyle blogs that do those kinds of compilation/finds/curating type of posts. I want more pure HEATHER. Beyond 1x/day begins to feel a bit commercialized to me. I prefer richer content less often.

You know, I've pretty much dropped all of the "big name" design blogs that have tons of posts every day, (with the exception of decor8!) because I just can't keep up with them all.
I like seeing your photography and art, and like the idea of featuring Etsy shops. And color and design posts are always helpful, they're a great source of inspiration and information for ideas I have for my own home.

leslie,
thank you so much for these endearing thoughts about my blog and me for that matter. i read this last night and tears welled up in my eyes. i feel as though you looked straight thru me to my heart and drew it out. you are right, I often hide behind other people's images or shops because I don't have enough pride or hope in my own work. this comment alone is changing the way i am thinking about myself, my work, this blog and my life.
thank you. thank you! your honesty is invaluable.
