Friends, How was your weekend? Are you ready for this week of celebration? My to do list is not completed as I prepare for the travels ahead this week. So I decided to share with you some of my visual inspiration... my friends and faves on Etsy and blogland through the rest of the week.

Today, meet two pretty blogs and a special shop that have me wanting to cozy up to hearth and home!

ReRae   a lovely approach to a simpler life through resurrecting hand craft traditions. Rerae also has an Etsy store for a beautiful brush with the past. Sophie's Haus is a new to me blog written by a photographer (I love those!) with features on fashion, food and decor~ And check out her beautiful beyond words shop: ButikSophie.

Feeling Felt

Happy Monday Dear Friends!! How was your weekend?? Are you covered in Snow?? Seems like most of the US is covered right now. I live in Tennessee and we rarely see snow this early in the season but it was a beautiful Winter Wonderland treat! Its already melting but it did afford me a day at home. (We don't really have salt trucks or the equipment to deal with snow to speak of, so the roads are always bad.) So I am planning to use my day off to do some crafting gifts for my friends and family. I was inspired by this Pinboard... all things FELT! Now, I have never really meddled with felt before but these ideas really look fun for some reason. After making a few floral brooches I gained some confidence with my crafting skills, plus I love working small and these little projects feel just do-able. I especially like the Purl Soho DIY tutorials!

Things I Love Thursdays: Fabric Tape

 

 

 

Happy Thursday friends! How are you dears?? Do you ever think about the simple things in life which bring you joy? Sometimes just dreaming about an object of beauty or smelling a flower on an evening walk with me dog can cause my heart to jump with delight. Lately it has been the idea of Fabric tapes. Although I still love the colorful masking tapes these other Japanese imports have a tactile quality that create a sense of homey comfort. Two of my favorite resources right now are the etsy shops: Wonderland Room and Nothing Elegant. In fact, I think I just might order some now to brighten my day!

How about a little punch of color to get you going today?? Im scurrying around trying to tie up loose ends before heading out the door for a trip to see family in Texas tomorrow, so I just want to leave you with some fun quirky colorful finds for home from Folly and Glee. This swell shop offers upcycled vintage finds , unique handmades like those fab-tab lamp shades and light fixtures made from vintage wallpaper and fabrics. The shade is actually a vintage Grandma Moses print! How divine!

Shop Around the Corner: Ashes and Milk

 

Good Morning and Happy Friday!! Do you have big weekend plans?? Unfortunately I will be working to get caught up some jobs before my family arrives next week and then I will have some much needed time off.

Maybe it is the reality that hits after a devastating flood which hit our city a couple of weeks ago, that has caused me to become more acutely aware of the small things that can be done to take care of our local environment. And from a design standpoint I am craving simplicity, neutral palettes and all natural materials.

Happy Tuesday dear friends!!! And Hello to all Decor8 readers. Holly so graciously asked me to submit my favorite etsy shops for her Etsy Take Five Tuesday column and I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of all of her loveliness while she is away! They are such wonderful colorful shops, so today I thought I would stick to neutrals here inspired by my latest international magazine find, Campagne Decoration, it appears to be a French Country Living of sorts in my opinion. Flower Power

 

Good Morning glories!! How about a little flower power to get energized today?? I thought I would switch things up a bit and insert some strong pattern into g.s after a few days of spare rooms and natural palettes. I came across the work of Lisa Bengtsson last night and recognized some of her work and images that I know have made it around the web, (apt. therapy for sure). Then I discovered she is Swedish! Funny, after my Swedish Country post yesterday! I must be instantly attracted to Swedish design. Lisa's work however is far from traditional but there is something magical in it. What do you think?? In fact, these images I chose today are some of her more tame designs. For more color and pattern check out her portfolio. (dont you love the floral ceiling paper???)

Happy Monday Lovies! How was your holiday weekend?? Hope it was sweet and relaxing. I am in Chicago this morning and this is the first time I have had internet access all weekend. Oh, my how did we exist without it all those years ago! No, I really had a wonderful time visiting with family, but did miss YOU! So, Im just popping in to say hi and share this wonderful new find, Rose Hip.
