Its the Little Things in Life that sometimes have the most impact on our heart and spirits. Wouldn't you agree? Why else would we save movie tickets, medals, feathers, jewelry, letters, etc... Personally, I have always been attracted to the small things in life... literally miniature items. My artwork is small, my teacups dainty, photo frames within inches and I love a super ultra fine tipped ink pen. So today I come to you with a creative invitation to share the little things in your life that are dear to your heart. To participate, just add your thoughtfully arranged vignettes of your favorite items to the Gathering Spriggs flickr group. And remember these simple rules: 

-no flash photography

-images must be your own

-no nudity

Hunting And Gathering: Photo Competition

So after last weeks post , I have decided to make Hunting and Gathering a weekly feature! To kick things off, I would love to see your vintage collections. So send me your best photos of vintage collections and I will post the top five next Tuesday. Please send jpgs only to [email protected] (one photo per person). The winners will receive a special prize (to be announced).  Good Luck!!

All photos were judged by Heather S. Thompson (myself) and Eve Peach (my business partner).  Eve did not know who the photos were from.  Each photo was graded on a 1-5 scale in the following catagories: creativity, composition, originality, theme and color.  

Thanks to everyone who submitted to this little contest. I appreciate your creativity! It was a very close race. Each of these contestants were within 1 point of each other.

This was so much fun!! 

The winning entries will be featured at the online gallery, Gathering Spriggs, as a limited edition print, and will receive a digital print of Eve Peach's "Butterfly Tree"!

Valentine's Day Theme Photo Competition

This is the first annual photo competition here at GS. Please submit jpeg's of your best personal photography featuring the color red or pink to [email protected] in the next week (ending next friday Jan. 30) The winner and the first 2 runner ups will be featured on the Feb. 1 blogpost. The winner will also receive  a 4" X 6" print of the Butterfly Tree print from the gathering spriggs shop.   I can't wait to see what you come up with!!
