Have you ever had a dream of doing something in your life, then see someone else who is actually living it out and it gives you hope that anything is possible?? I know I have. And Trisha Brink is one of those people for me. She co-owns a store with her sister and mother (major dream), runs three Etsy shops, makes crafts, takes gorgeous photos and keeps a blog of all of her adventures! Plus she is a mom and keeps a beautiful home in Lynden, Washington. Talk about multi-tasking! I first spotted her work on flickr and invited her to post her photos in the Gathering Spriggs flickr group and I have been amazed at her work ever since! Beautiful, nostalgic, dreamy, romantic, yet playful ! So tell me, who inspires you to live out your dreams??

A little gallery I created called brunch! What do you think? Are you making plans for Easter brunch? I love the idea of a brunch in the Spring. With plenty of flowers, sunshine, pops of color and of course joyous laughter. I am working on a little spring brunch myself for some girlfriends. Do you have any favorite recipes or decorating ideas to share?  (Entertaining is not naturally my strong suit.) I would love your input!

Happy Friday!! Ok, Im smitten. Today's Shop Around the Corner makes me feel like I died and went to heaven. English roses, chintz, Edwardian inspired fashion, ruffles, oh my! the London shop Cabbages and Roses has it all. Happy Thursday dears~ ! How is your day, week, month going so far? March to me is this resting in between month, the dawn of Spring and close of winter. And I always have a visual of March as this dewy, mossy wooded place with rays of sunlight shooting through the trees. There is something evocative of that sense in these photos of Cath Muscat, an Australian photographer with a diverse portfolio. (Yes, I salute Sydney today- it was a random choosing for both of today's posts). So here is to Sydney and to March. May we be graced by your presence.

Textile Designer, Anna Dove

 

 

  

 

 
 

 

Another day has dawned and I am reminded to take one day at a time. Last night I was thumbing through some past issues of Domino magazine and had bookmarked a feature on textile designer, Anna Dove. (Oct. 2007) I remember being drawn to her ethereal designs - handpainted and crafted with gentleness and care. Each of her works is digitally printed on paper or fabric and the textiles receive a final touch with hand painted embellishments.  So sweetly feminine and lovely. The darker color ways have a more magical feeling and she suggests pairing them white furniture! Oooh, la la.

Dressing Window Friends

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do you remember Katy,the window friend of Anne Shirley in the book Anne of Green Gables? It was an imaginary friend who lived in the windows that Anne could go to in times of need. I had many window friends growing up (until my sister was born). But what if our dear window friends got a little make over? Isn't it time we take them shopping and do a little "What Not to Wear" magic?  My window friends have been sorely neglected. Fortunately this house came with a few sheers and wood blinds when we moved in or I would still have sheets hanging. Gasp! Nevertheless, its time my window friends grow up and don some more serious big girl clothes. So here are some of my favorites from my inspiration folder that I share with you today! So how about you? Do you have any fabulous window treatment ideas that I should know about or any creative solutions for dressing your window friends?

Finding Calm

 

 

 

 

I think I found calm here in these immaculately serenely styled rooms by Sally Conran. I love the presence of space and light. Open room, Open heart, Open mind. Ahhh. Im basking. They feel like Yoga for the soul. Now, I am going out to take my little Domino (our border collie/terrier mix) for a walk. Although it is chilly again I think I need to be outdoors and away from the desk a bit today. Hope you take some time for yourself today to renew, and refresh. See you back tomorrow, dears!

Good Monday Morning! Can you believe it is the start of another week? It felt like Spring here in Nashville this weekend. Sunny, warm, breezy and the birds were singing. It definitely put me in the mood for spring. Then I paged through the new Jcrew catalogue and I just adore their Spring color palette. Pale neutrals, lady like nudes paired with unexpected pops of color. So I found a few rooms to match their aesthetic. So how was your weekend? Are you excited for the season of new life to come? Are you dreaming of warmer weather and Spring florals? I'd love to hear all about it!

Happy Friday!! How was your week? Mine has been a long one, so I am looking forward to the weekend - some down time and lunch with friends. Do you have any big plans?? Or just a little R & R time?
