Shop Around the Corner: French Blue & Co.

 

So many beautiful shops keeping popping up before me this week. I am trying desperately to remember them all and how I found them so that I might share with you. This simply classic French antique shop is the product of two sisters who travel the world to bring back charming finds to their LA shop. Plus, they create beautiful handmade paper treasures with that certain Je ne sais quoi.  I wish I had discovered this shop before the Holiday season but fortunately for me I have some family birthdays in January too.

Shop Around the Corner: Redefine Home

After discovering Redefine Home this past week I quickly jumped on their website and ordered some Christmas presents for my sister and myself (actually-don't tell). What a delightful experience! Touring the pages of this online home furnishings store felt as if I was on the California coast with ocean breezes blowing through reclaimed wooden doors opening to reveal a naturally elegant shop filled to the brim with current finds. The founders Linsi Brownson and David Betz (an interior designer and home builder) have pooled their talents to bring you the best home furnishings where comfort and beauty collide all within socially and environmentally friendly approach.  So the concept of their shop got my wheels turning. 

How would you Redefine your Home? I love this idea that you could redefine what you have already. Its a word with dreams attached. 

I would Redefine my home as : Warm, inviting where the past meets future hopes.

Shop Around the Corner: BlueBellGray

Its Friday friends!! Can you believe another week is behind us?? I feel like my life has been in fast forward for the past month and I am in the process of catching my breath to keep up. So on that note, I plan to take this weekend to truly rest, get caught up on house work, unpack all my new vintage treasures (soon to be listed) and spend a bit of much needed time with the Mr. (in between his wedding gigs of course). So what are your plans? Do you have any exciting activities planned or squeezing in some R&R?

First of all.... I love this Scottish shop Bluebellgray featuring brilliant watercolors for your home. Each design is handpainted in the Bluebellgray studios. Original paintings are also available! So light and dreamy! This is one of those companies that is doing my dream job, creating lovely homewares from original works of art. Ahhh , Sigh!

Sweetpea & Willow

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday! What does your day look like today?  I am off to have lunch and tea today with Eve and Hannah at a local Tea house ... more on that later. But wanted to share with you this beautiful UK based furnishings company Sweetpea and Willow discoverd after flipping through some past issues of BBC Homes and Antiques. What do you think of these gorgeous beds fit for a queen (or princess)? They offer a line of children's furniture too. I am dreaming of a gilded and tufted silk headboard bed to make me feel like royalty.

Today it is raining here, a slow steady rain washing away the stifling heat and humidity this week. I am counting my blessings this morning before the world comes in demanding me of my time and energy. So here's to a renewed sensibility this weekend with all possibilities at hand. Shop Around the Corner: OK Corral

 

Thank you all so much dear friends for your well wishes yesterday!! :) I feel blessed to be surrounded by a beautiful circle of friends who offer so much kindness. I have had more offers of people wanting to come by and bring me aid than I know what to do with! 

Fortunately, I was finally able to rest all night and half the morning (goodness), and am feeling much better. So I bring to you a wonderful shop introduced to me by Marie Nichols of Whole Lotta Lovely who wrote about this new find several weeks ago. It was love at first site and I have been eager to share with you! Ok Corral is the new creative endeavor of UK phtoographer Holly Jolliffe : an online vintage shop chock full of simple beautiful housewares. I just love it when creative people explore new ways of using their giftings! So on that note here are a few new links from creative people in my life for your weekend reading.  How about you? Shop Around the Corner: Decorative Country Living

 

 

 

Happy Weekend dear friends!! I pray yours is blessed with refreshment. I am looking forward to having not much else to do (ie getting caught up on paperwork and chores) but I think sometimes the simple tasks in life can bring joy just to be absorbed in the doing. However if I had my fantastical dream come true I would tour the English countryside and pay a visit to the 19th century converted chapel in Caythorpe, Lincolnshire to shop at Decorative Country Living. This beautiful place brings together vintage, home accessories, antiques, garden decor, lighting and much more under one roof. As well as, under one click. DCL's online shop (and yes, they do ship internationally) is quite handsome with light filled photos of the shop's interior and beautifully styled images of merchandise.  I'm in heaven..... ahh sigh.

Happy Friday Ya'll? How has this week been for you?? Since my return from Texas I have been in the throws of preparing for a very special friend's , very special 30th birthday party here at my house. And of course that means rearranging decor, adding new treasures to the walls and preparing food. Hostessing (I've found) brings me so much joy. I feel blessed that I have a home now that has the room to accommodate guests -- maybe someday I can have you over too!

Today, here is a little shop (Roost Living) that caught my attention with its pretty serving pieces. I wish I could order them all for my event. But hey, its almost as fun just to look. Hope you enjoy too and have a blessed weekend!

Shop Around the Corner: 5 Broads on Broadway

 

Happy belated 4th of July friends?? Did you celebrate in style? Are you still on holiday in the US?  I know many people were given the day off today to continue celebrating our national birthday. For me I am on the road traveling today (still waltzing across Texas). Its been a wonderful time, visiting family, shopping, touring places that used to be my hometowns. I haven't lived in Texas for 12 years now but yet everything is still strangely familiar- except  that I am the tourist buying souvenirs and touring the San Antonio Riverwalk with camera in tow. There is much to share with you. For instance this wonderfully spunky interiors shop in downtown San Antonio: 5 Broads on Broadway. Filled with unusual repurposed antiques, mixed with eclectic gift items and beautiful custom upholstery this shop oozes Southwestern charm and hospitality.  Started by five women with a dream and now expanding to include a diverse range of women under the five broads umbrella, I couldn't have been more inspired ! Hope you are too!
