Happy Friday! The weekend is in site. Do you have any plans this weekend? ( I am actually working - a craft show featuring new items from Gathering Spriggs) If we can survive the heat it should be fun!

But I wanted to leave you with a wonderful new to me shop from French textile designer Ann Hubert. La Cerise sur le gateau (The Cherry on the Cake) is a wonderfully surprising online boutique filled to the brim with colorful treasures of printed textiles for home, body, table and the kids. Whimsy and Parisian chic mixed with Anne's creative eye for color and quality along with the keen eye of photographer Coco Amardeil make for a match made in heaven. Shop Around the Corner: Greer Chicago

 

Its Friday dear friends and I am in Chicago for a long weekend taking my family to see some of our favorite places in the city. Today's shop is a place on my Chicago wishlist for the weekend. I have never been but have heard rave reviews of this premiere stationary shop, Greer Chicago. If its anything like the beautiful website then I am sold! 

Im excited to do blogger meet up with Brigitte of Covet this weekend too!! She has been such a dear to me over the last few months and I cannot wait to get to meet her!

Greetings dearests. Its a been a long morning trying to get this post to you... but I think I am ready for the weekend now. How about you?? Any big plans this weekend. Here in the US it is Memorial Day weekend , traditionally a long weekend of relaxing, vacationing, backyard barbecue and welcoming in summer. Do you have any exciting plans ?  I plan to stay at home and enjoy my outdoor patio with my family. It is an unfinished space that I would love to furnish with all natural items like those from Obi and Moo, an online home furnishings shop specializing in natural materials and the casual look of the French countryside.

Good Morning and Happy Friday!! Do you have big weekend plans?? Unfortunately I will be working to get caught up some jobs before my family arrives next week and then I will have some much needed time off.

Maybe it is the reality that hits after a devastating flood which hit our city a couple of weeks ago, that has caused me to become more acutely aware of the small things that can be done to take care of our local environment. And from a design standpoint I am craving simplicity, neutral palettes and all natural materials. 

So meet Ashes and Milk: an incredibly curated online gallery/marketplace for all things simply stated and uniquely crafted for individual use. I love the bird pieces... Which ones are your favorites??

Hello Dears.... Thank you again for all the sweet birthday wishes over the weekend. It was so magical and sweet to be surrounded by beautiful people in my home enjoying tea, brunch and delectable sweets. The cake balls were a success but nothing stellar to my dear friend, Noelle's Lemon Kissed Cupcakes. I wish I had taken a photo but they were much too delicious to wait for that. But here is the recipe if you desire a little piece of sweet heaven in your mouth.. 

So because of all the birthday hullabaloo I skipped Shop Around the Corner last friday, but found this sweet traditional French earthenware company, Gien.. I really cant get over their new pattern: Sultana (first image)  For summer they have taken traditional techniques and given them a little exotic flare. So there is a style for everyone..

A Lovely Little Shop on the Other Side of the World

Happy Friday!!!!!! Yes. Its really here! Can you believe it! Taxes are done, Spring has dawned and life is good. Im on my way out the door to visit a new shop in a little town outside of Nashville that might be consigning some our Gathering Spriggs artwork! And as a future shop owner myself it got me thinking about all the hidden treasures that lie on the outskirts ... small shops with beautiful wares beckoning the off the beaten path traveler. And I came across, The Vintage Rose, one such shop tucked away in the wilds of Tasmania. Have any of you ever been to Tasmania??? I had no idea it was a lovely little place for vacationers and tourists until I read Australian Country Style (March issue). Wow! This is a locale on the globe I never would have thought existed. But Im broadening my horizons with technology. Thanks world wide web for bringing things on the other side of the world closer to home!

Shop Around the Corner: P.O.S.H.

Good Monday Morning to you dears! I am so happy to be back here with you sharing a cup of tea and musings! How was your weekend?? Did you get to enjoy some of the fabulous sunshine?? After a rainy, cold week in Chicago it was a joy to be back home in nearly 80 degree temps!  So after a week of technical difficulties, I am happy to return to share with you some of my Chicago finds. P.O.S.H was on my to do list this trip and it was nothing short of a visual dessert to finish off the trip- filled to the brim with dishware, linens, and hotel silver. Hope you enjoy this lovely little River North area shop as much as I did. (I just recently started collecting vintage maps and I fell in love with their treatment of them in the first image!)

Happy Thursday ! Happy Easter and Happy Passover! Blessing to you all. Today will be my last blog posting for the long holiday weekend but will be back on Monday. I am starting my Spring Break on Monday but will have some special guest bloggers and fun things for you all next week. So I leave you with my Shop Around the Corner this week, Bountiful. This beautiful shop in Venice, California has it all! I hope to go someday because if it is anything like the images on their website, it will be paradise. I especially like their China Closet section where many of these images came from. Aren't they wonderful inspiration for your holiday table?? I love the abundance of flowers and bright white beachy tones. 

So do you have any plans for the weekend?? I will be off to visit my husband's family in Indiana and then the rest of the week in Chicago. So see you next week!!

Happy Friday dears!! WoW! March is nearly over! Spring is just peeking around the corner and there are fewer things that excite me more, except maybe seeing women who collaborate creatively! Not only are these women of Ink & Spindle working together to create beautiful, hand printed textiles, but they nurture one another in the process fueled with a passion for art and design. Ok. so not only that but this stellar trio also helps support Carbon Neutral and keeps a candid list of their everyday studio practices that help lower emissions and create an ethical studio practice.  If that is not enough they make beautiful housewares out of the Ink & Spindle fabrics, keep blogs and Lara has recently teamed up with The Wall Sticker Co. and introduced a new line of wall decals which coordinate perfectly with Ink & Spindle fabrics.
