Dear friends! How was your weekend?? Restful? Productive? Mine was both and at the same time wasn't. Im still struggling with mixed emotions which I think is the case when you create: putting part of your soul into an object and then live with a little excitement and fear of sharing it with the world. As you may know, I'm a pretty private person. Pretty introverted. I would rather listen to someone else talk about their heart than share my own (in most cases). So, when I finally take the time to create something, real and soulful my heart aches a little with fear and tenderness of self expression. But in honor of taking risks and "smashing through the brick wall of fear" (a chapter in "The Art of Non-Conformity") I am laying before you my new works of art. Little pieces of my heart and soul just for you!
Here's a quote from the same chapter to ponder as you start your week:
"The absence of fear is not courage; the absence of fear is mental illness." Po Bronson
So what about you? How do you use fear to work to your advantage to give you newfound courage to try things that might feel slightly uncomfortable? I would love to hear what works for you! We are in this creative process together!
(And here are new market totes just listed which are part of a collaboration with my sister. She sews the bags and adornments and I hand stencil them with romantic patterns. They make great party favors!)
Next step for me is listing the paintings!
